"Babette's Feast" is a concert storytelling performance created by Stine Michel, freely based on Karen Blixen. In a lyrical and dramatic musical universe, Babette tells her story of flight, loss, art, identity, faith, hope, and love, as pain and passion are transformed into a divine meal.
The performance combines storytelling with newly composed music played by a musical trio, French folklore, songs with Nordic melodies, and singer-songwriter elements with notes of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. Stine Michel plays Babette in roles including witch, goddess, revolutionary, and kitchen maid.
Before the performance, a bowl of warm soup with homemade bread is served at 18.00. The café is open and sells coffee, tea, cake, and drinks. The event is supported by Vanløse Lokaludvalg.
