Cabaret Melancolique returns with a spectacular extravaganza filled with bizarre characters and remarkable acts. The evening unfolds as a sorrowful celebration of bad taste, embarrassing moments and boundary-breaking artistic expression that deliberately scratches the blackboard of convention.
The iconic cabaret format features everything from silent ventriloquism and werewolf kisses to orgasmic volcano women, Scottish flamenco dancers, spirit mediums and near-sighted shooting acts. There are winged eggs, saw-playing ghosts and countless other absurd creations. A deliberate celebration of the toe-curling embarrassing, enveloped in hazy mystery and shared mortification.
Cabaret Melancolique was founded in London in 2001 and is described as a meeting between Gothic horror, Monty Python and The Muppets. For this edition, six artists from London fly in to lead the evening together with Danish artists who throw themselves into absurd stunts they have always wanted to try, but which are too embarrassing for their regular performances. This will be a wildly unhinged Christmas celebration that will (unfortunately) be unforgettable!
