Doubting Ivan is a dark and intimate modern reimagining of Dostoevsky's classic The Brothers Karamazov. The play explores guilt, morality and human conscience through the story of Ivan, who once had all the answers – but now doubts everything.
After attempting to mediate a bitter family dispute, Ivan makes a decision he can never take back. While a highly publicized court verdict looms over his family, his reason, conscience and sanity are put to the test. Murder, morality and love intertwine against the question: where does guilt take root when all is permitted?
Written and performed by Oisín Robbins, the piece blends drama and humor in a theatrical work that is as funny as it is serious. A performance where everyone – and everything – is on trial.
Performed in English.
