American trumpet legend Eddie Henderson brings his quartet to Montmartre to celebrate the most important works of Miles Davis. Henderson has been shaped by Miles Davis since childhood, who served as his mentor, and through a career as both musician and physician has developed into one of jazz's most important voices.
With roots in 1950s bebop and 1960s post-bop, Henderson explores both jazz's classical era and the later funk and fusion-influenced expression of the 1970s. He has performed alongside jazz's greatest figures – including Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner and Pharoah Sanders – and is known for great musical versatility. Throughout the evening, he presents Miles Davis's greatest works from an artist who few have known so intimately.
