Federico – 90 Years After the Murder

Experience Federico García Lorca's life and artistic legacy through a groundbreaking performance uniting theatre, flamenco, dance, music and performance art. Over 30 Spanish-speaking artists explore together the significance of the renowned Spanish poet and playwright 90 years after his death.

The performance draws from Lorca's own texts and biography, meeting them with contemporary themes such as migration, identity, freedom, oppression and peace. You will encounter scenes and passages from works including Bodas de sangre, Romancero gitano and La casa de Bernarda Alba, blended with flamenco, dance, music and visual artistic elements.

Inspired by La Barraca – the theatre group Lorca himself founded during the Second Spanish Republic in 1931 – the theatre transforms into a shared artistic space for dialogue and historical memory. The performance breaks boundaries between stage and audience, inviting you into the action and making you an actively participating co-creator rather than a passive spectator.
