Meet three Danish adventurers – host of 'The Furthest Edge' Bjørn Harvig, journalist Tore Grønne, and anthropologist Søren Sattrup – who journey deep into Wakhan Corridor, the remote mountain region nestled between Tajikistan, China, and Pakistan, accompanied by two Afghan guides. Their expedition brings them close to the Wakhi people, whose rich cultural heritage now faces extreme pressure from Taliban expansion.
Through stories from villages and nomadic encampments unfolds an intimate and eye-opening narrative of this remote region – about cultural heritage, the struggle for women's rights, hope for the future, and fear of losing a traditional way of life. The lecture features extensive visual experiences with photographs, audio recordings, and video material from Afghanistan, bringing the depth and nuances of daily reality closer to the audience.
