Den Gamle Sangskat brings Christmas in with Danish musical heritage at BRØK. Sara Grabow, Martine Madsen and Eva Skipper perform a blend of nostalgic Danish radio hits, classic Christmas songs, and old international hits in Danish versions. The trio combines three-part singing, ukulele, guitar and double bass in a jazzy, acoustic expression characterized by Scandinavian minimalism.
The concert explores how familiar melodies come to life anew through minimalist arrangements that cut to the essence. From "Vinterhvidt Vidunderland" to "Der er ingenting i verden så stille som sne" and Den Gamle Sangskat's own version of "Sleigh Ride" – "Kanetur" – it is music full of warmth, humor and musical vitality. Familiar without being predictable, nostalgic without being dusty.
