Create a truly personal Christmas gift by decorating a recycled cup, bowl, or plate with ink painting at the Archaeological Workshop. Copenhagen's Museum educators show you genuine archaeological finds from Copenhagen as inspiration – porcelain and pottery shards that archaeologists have unearthed in the city. Using these historical treasures as your starting point, you can transform your second-hand pieces into colourful masterpieces with your own personal decorations. When you get home, simply pop it in the oven, and your gift will be ready under the tree.
The museum's archaeologist will guide you through the history of porcelain in an archaeological context. Each session begins with a joint introduction, after which you have time to decorate at your own pace. You're welcome to bring the whole family, friends, or colleagues – the workshop is suitable for everyone.
Note: Food and drink are not permitted in the workshop due to the archaeological finds, but Café Spirrevippen just next door serves mulled wine, homemade cakes, and other delights before or after.
