The alternative K-pop group Leenalchi invites you to an explosive musical experience where tradition meets present in Lille VEGA. The band blends the ancient Korean pansori singing tradition with modern electronic music, new wave and psychedelic funk.
Leenalchi's sound is heavily inspired by pansori – a traditional Korean form of musical storytelling, often compared to opera. Epic tales of virtue, sorrow and dragon kings are delivered through hypnotic bass hooks, bubbling synthesizers and groovy rhythms. The music incorporates characteristic sounds from waterfalls – gurgling, rushing and whooshing – which are part of pansori singers' traditional vocal training.
The band consists of four singers, two bassists, a drummer and keyboardist. Leenalchi gained international fame with the hit song "Tiger Is Coming", which went viral and introduced their unique universe to a global audience. They have just released the new EP Here Comes That Crow.
