Toftemark spent four years in New York, where he studied jazz at The New School for Jazz and worked as a professional jazz saxophonist. He later obtained a European Jazz Master's degree from music schools in Copenhagen, Berlin, and Paris. He has released two albums under his own name: A New York Flight and La Gare, reflecting his inspiration from jazz's capital and European musical culture.
