Morbidfest

An evening dedicated to death metal classics when three legendary bands from the extreme metal genre's golden age unite at Pumpehuset on November 25. I AM MORBID, ATHEIST, and CANCER each present their own special program, rooted in the albums and periods that shaped the genre.

I AM MORBID is fronted by David Vincent, former frontman of Morbid Angel, and performs a special "ABCD" Classics set. The program honors Morbid Angel's four landmark debut albums — Altars of Madness, Blessed Are the Sick, Covenant, and Domination — a catalog that cemented the band's position as genre pioneers.

ATHEIST marks the 35th anniversary of Unquestionable Presence from 1991. The album revolutionized technical death metal by blending the genre with jazz influences, complex rhythms, and progressive composition.

CANCER closes the evening with a 35th anniversary celebration of Death Shall Rise, the band's second album from 1991. Recorded with producer Scott Burns and guitarist James Murphy at the legendary Morrisound Studios, the work stands as a classic of British death metal.
