Author Carsten Norton presents his documentary account of Pusher Street – Denmark's most famous hash street. In conversation with museum director Frederik Strand, he explores the street's fascinating development from the 1970s idealistic social experiment, through the 1980s chaotic period with the arrival of bikers, to today's organized criminal networks, and towards the present day, where the street's era seems to be approaching its end.
The meeting draws a nuanced portrait through the eyes of all the people who have been part of the story: hippies, hash dealers, runners, police officers, tourists, Christianites and many others. It becomes a deep insight into a street that has fascinated and provoked all of Denmark.
