Ulug Bek is a comedian who has made his mark on the Nordic comedy scene. Over the years, he has toured with sold-out shows across Denmark and performed at Fringe Festivals in all Nordic countries. Now he presents his new solo show PURE VIKING BLOOD – a humorous exploration of life as a foreigner in Scandinavia.
The show follows Ulug Bek's quest to become Scandinavian: he got the job, he got the passport, but he still needs the most important thing – Viking blood. With deadpan observational comedy, he shares his attempts to integrate into Danish culture. He cycles, he recycles, he worships the sun – yet he still mangles the language, mixes up week numbers, and doesn't have a single Danish friend. Is a blood transfusion with Viking blood his last chance?
The show appeals to both expats who are almost Danish and Danes who want an outside perspective on their own society. Ulug shares both successes and – mainly – failures from his life in Danish office culture and Scandinavia. There's a good chance you'll recognize yourself somewhere in it.
