Experience a remarkable musical journey when SADA Band invites you to explore Arabic singing traditions, Sufi music, and Andalusian flamenco. Four virtuoso musicians create together a unique and spiritual sound that connects music from Syria, Palestine, Jordan, and Andalusia in fresh and surprising ways.
Leading the ensemble is Syrian singer Bakri Hemmami, who grew up in Aleppo's rich musical environment and studied with masters of Sufi music. Since coming to Denmark, he has established himself as a prominent figure on the Danish and international music scene. Islam Jaran from Jordan contributes on bratsch and Arabic violin with training from several of Jordan's music institutions, blending classical and Arabic traditions. Palestinian flamenco guitarist Obai Bitar presents his distinctive style, fusing Arabic maqam with Andalusian elements – an expression that earned his band a Global Music Award in 2022. Percussionist Bader Debs from Syria completes the ensemble with rhythmic vitality and experience from collaborations with the Middle East's greatest artists.
SADA Band builds bridges between musical worlds: classical Arabic singing traditions meet new expressions, while Sufi music adds spiritual dimension and intimacy. The concert offers both reflective moments and virtuosic energy – a performance where traditions are not merely preserved but revitalized through the four musicians' unique interplay.
