A creative writing workshop designed for parents on parental leave, where language and writing are explored as tools to transform experience and emotion. Participants work with short literary examples from both classical and contemporary literature as well as concrete writing exercises – including inspiration from Tarot cards – to develop their own written voice on the theme of transformation. Sessions conclude with participants reading their texts aloud to each other in a space filled with safety and openness.
About the instructor: Ingrid Nymo is the author of the novels Kloster (2021, shortlisted for the Munch Christensen Debut Prize) and The Red Rooster (2024, nominated for the DR Novel Prize). She has taught creative writing at Testrup Folk High School, the School of Image and Media, and the School of Writing Art in Aarhus. Her first poetry collection, Humbaba's Head, is published in June 2026.
About the concept: This workshop is arranged so you can bring your child along. There is space for children, and it is completely acceptable to come and go as needed during the writing exercises. Bring a notebook, writing materials, possibly a blanket for the child to lie on, and toys. There is a water station and coffee machine on site, but bring your own water bottle or water container.
