Steen Kyed Trio invites to a special concert series at Bartof Café in celebration of 100 years of Danish jazz. Six Sundays in 2026 feature both new and classic jazz with vibrant conversation, melodic detours, deep grooves and authentic musical presence.
This Sunday brings the trio together with jazz vocalist and saxophonist Mads Mathias. The Danish jazz star has toured worldwide and recently opened for London Jazz Festival alongside Seal and Angelique Kidjo. He is one of very few Danes to have performed at BBC Proms in Royal Albert Hall and has won numerous international awards for both vocals and songwriting.
The trio consists of Steen Kyed (guitar), Jon Bruland (bass) and Anders Pedersen (drums and percussion) — three highly experienced musicians rooted in Danish jazz history. Their sound blends jazz qualities with modern timbre and distinctive melodic aesthetics, where original compositions meet classics from the jazz tradition.
The full concert series spans six Sundays with different guests from the Danish jazz scene: Peter Marott (8 March), Lis Wessberg (29 March), Hans Ulrik (26 April), Jakob Dinesen (31 May), Mads Mathias (1 November) and Christina von Bülow (29 November).
