Gain insight into the working process behind the multidisciplinary art project Animated Sickwalker, where performance meets animation. Artists Kat Staub and Sara Koppel invite the audience into their creative universe and share their working methods and the possibilities within hand-drawn animation and performative exploration.
The project combines Kat Staub's performative work exploring intergenerational chronic illness and alternative sexuality with Sara Koppel's hand-drawn 2D animations. Both artists work with surrealist interpretations of inherited dysfunction, darker and humorously kinky spaces, as well as experimental and classical storytelling techniques. The emphasis lies on craftsmanship and artisanal created art in innovative formats.
Kat Staub is a choreographer and performance artist from Universität der Künste in Berlin with experience in cabaret, drag, and hybrid work combining puppetry, vocal performance and dance. Sara Koppel is an award-winning animator and one of Denmark's last artists working with hand-drawn animation. With 35 years of experience, she explores family histories, gender, and climate anxiety through psychedelic film works.
Practical: The venue has level access and accessible toilet. All events are "relaxed" with a focus on creating a safe space.
