What does our clothing reveal about our identity and the influence it gives us? Drawing inspiration from Glyptoteket's current exhibition Power and Fashion in the Roman Empire, a talented cohort of young designers from Textilskolen reinterpret both clothing and power through a contemporary design perspective.
The students explore experimentally how the suit as a classic symbol of authority can be transformed through new materials, textile techniques, and creative reinterpretation. Historical and contemporary symbols are combined in surprising new ways, giving fabric and cut entirely new meaning.
In the museum's architectural setting, fashion show meets art history – bodies, clothing, and movement dialogue with antiquities in a staging that challenges both fashion's and power's established norms. This is a fresh and experimental approach to the relationship between human, fabric, and society.
