Visual artist Anne-Louise Blicher invites you into her artistic practice through this two-hour oil painting workshop. You will experiment with oil painting and nature fragments, creating your own landscape motif with no prior experience required.
The workshop draws inspiration from the museum's special exhibition Life, Longing and Landscape – Thorvaldsen's Painting Collection, which presents landscape paintings from the Golden Age. Rather than painting grand vistas, you will focus on details: bark texture, the crown of beech trees, and geometric patterns hidden in nature's smallest components. This reflects Blicher's artistic approach, in which she deconstructs classical nature ideals in favour of understanding nature as sensed ecology.
The session begins with a brief introduction to the exhibition, followed by work in the museum's workshop, the Gipsery. Here, materials, tools, and expert guidance are provided so you can create your own piece to take home.
Practical info: Workshop held 21.11 & 5.12 at 11–13 and 14–16. Price: 65 kr. plus museum admission (110 kr. for adults, free under 18). All ages welcome; children under 18 must be accompanied by at least one adult.
