Burlesque Allstars Open Stage is an inclusive event where new performers showcase and develop their burlesque, cabaret, and drag numbers. The series functions as a vital performance platform for emerging artists in Copenhagen: since June 2024, nine debut performers have presented their first solo productions here, and over fifty new acts—both solo and group—have been developed and premiered.
The event promotes international collaboration among performers from the USA, Finland, Denmark, Romania, Belgium, and beyond. Material developed here has already led to larger stages: the new queer burlesque musical Lover Boy (directed by Stinne Brøchner-Nielsen, premiere March 10th 2026) originates from a number created at Burlesque Allstars in 2024. Many acts from the series have subsequently been booked for international events such as Baltic Burlesque Gala in Gdansk and RendezVous Club in Stockholm.
Modern burlesque is about giving artists—especially women, non-binary, and trans performers—control over their own stories, bodies, and images. The genre celebrates diversity across body types, ages, and backgrounds while challenging gender norms. Burlesque Allstars creates a safe space for artistic experimentation and simultaneously introduces new audiences to burlesque and drag as art forms. The event typically runs every 2–3 months. A new season launches in August with a special Copenhagen Pride Edition, featured in the Copenhagen Pride programme.
