Experience swinging melodic jazz with Cat Pack at Hvide Lam – one of Denmark's few places where live music is performed every day. The band features Lasse Rømer (trumpet and vocals), Ole Matthiessen (piano), Søren Anker Nielsen (guitar), and Jimmi Roger Pedersen (bass), with occasional guest appearances.
Here you get the music up close in an intimate atmosphere – far from large concert venues and poor acoustics. Guitarist Søren Anker is a veteran in Danish musical life with decades of experience from dansktop, theater, and the Cirkusrevyen orchestra. Trumpeter Lasse Rømer draws on Louis Armstrong's legacy with his soaring playing, while bassist Jimmi Roger Pedersen – a student of Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen – delivers virtuosic bass work. Pianist Ole Matthiessen has been active in countless contexts over 60 years.
The repertoire is broad and versatile: from classic jazz with roots in early jazz history to melodies from the great American songbook, supplemented by Danish, Swedish, and French pieces. Cat Pack combines showmanship, humor, and crooner singing in musical interpretations that have made the band a permanent fixture – now with over 800 bookings at Hvide Lam since 2017.
Hvide Lam, founded in 1807, is one of Copenhagen's oldest taverns and Denmark's only place where jazz is performed daily.
