Documentary film club Dox:2700 invites you to a film evening with discussion about freedom of expression. Watch the documentary "Mr. Nobody vs Putin" (2025), directed by David Borenstein with Pavel Talankin as co-director and subject.
The film follows Pavel, a teacher in a small Russian town, who secretly documents how the Putin government introduced propaganda and war education in schools. At great personal risk, he smuggles videos out of Russia to document children forced to recite propaganda and the war's impact on his local community.
After the film concludes (1 hour and 30 minutes), there will be a lecture and discussion with Mille Rode, Secretary-General of Danish PEN. Mille has worked for years on freedom of expression for writers and artists in Russia, Belarus, Iran, Egypt, and China, and lived in the Soviet Union from 1986 to 1989. She will discuss the state of freedom of expression with a particular focus on Russia.
Tea and coffee will be served during the break. The event is free, and everyone is welcome.
