Jazz on Film – Ella Fitzgerald

Experience jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald through a film programme at Posthus Teatret. First, the documentary Ella Fitzgerald: Just One of Those Things from 2019, directed by Leslie Woodhead, is screened. The 90-minute film (with English subtitles) features interviews with among others Ray Brown, Jr., Tony Bennett and Norman Miller, as well as rare archival material including photographs and film clips.

Afterwards, we present a magnificent recording from Norman Granz' Montreux concerts: Ella Fitzgerald performing in 1975 with Count Basie's Orchestra and her regular pianist Paul Smith. A perfect evening for jazz lovers of all levels.

Organizer: Michael Thomsen.
