Experience Swedish artist Katarina Barruk in an exclusive and intimate concert at ALICE. She blends Ume Sámi joik, pop music and traditional vocal art in a compelling musical experience.
Barruk is a groundbreaking voice on the international music scene – one of the few singing in Ume Sámi, a critically endangered language on UNESCO's list. Following triumphant performances at Royal Albert Hall (as the first Sámi artist at BBC Proms), Roskilde Festival and Iceland Airwaves, she continues her unwavering mission to keep the language alive through music.
With her powerful voice, original vocal techniques and strong stage presence, she blends raw elemental force, vulnerability and strength. At ALICE, she presents a raw, experimental side of her universe, accompanied by musicians Eirik Fjelde and Arnljot Nordvik.
Her recent work includes the EP "Guh Lejmeh Sámieh" (2025) and the album Ruhttuo (2022). As The Line of Best Fit writes: "It's almost incredible that she has managed to become something entirely unique: an internationally renowned artist from Ume Sámi."
