Papageno and Papagena - a PixiOpera

Mozart's classic The Magic Flute comes to life as a playful PixiOpera created especially for children. The performance tells the story of Frederik, a talented opera singer who faces challenges when trying to perform concerts for the youngest audiences. His friend and production manager tries to help him, but perhaps Frederik needs to relax and give his imagination more room.

The narrative draws from two characters in Mozart's masterpiece and explores friendship, conflict, and love through a colorful and magical universe. Here you'll find enchanted frogs turning into princes and a pet with a bellyache.

The PixiOpera is part of the Royal Theatre's PixiPerformances, which gives children an informal and fun introduction to the opera genre. The music consists of well-known excerpts from The Magic Flute, but with new text written for young audiences. This is perfect for little ones being introduced to opera in an accessible and entertaining way.
