Poetry, surrealism, and Latin American neo-folk meet in this concert featuring Mexican singer and double bassist Fuensanta. With a dreamy approach to Latin American folklore and free improvisation, a personal expression emerges that feels both grounded and magical.
Fuensanta was born in Veracruz, Mexico, and has been based in Amsterdam since 2015, where she has established herself as a distinctive voice on the European experimental scene. She moves freely between the intimate, experimental, and physical, combining clear vocals and double bass in an unconventional encounter. She has worked with artists such as Louis Cole, Han Bennink, Ben van Gelder, and Genevieve Artadi.
The concert is part of a collaboration between ALICE and SORT/HVID, where music and dance unfold within the scenography of SORT/HVID's theater production BAD MEXICAN DOG. Here, the space itself becomes an active part of the experience, where ritual, music, body, and architecture interweave. Ticket sales begin September 18 at 11 a.m.
