Why should architects and designers increase their presence in public debate through writing? In this workshop, Elisabeth Gellein from Spacegirls shares practical experience and guidance on getting started with writing – whether in your own newsletter, on your own platform, or as contributions to existing media.
Workshop focus areas:
- Why architects and designers should participate in public discourse
- Underrepresented topics in architecture and design debate
- Funding, publishing, editing and criticism
- Time management and practice for prioritizing reading and writing
- Work methods and structures for getting started
- Digital tools for writing projects
- Collaborative writing and writing circles
- Experience sharing among participants
Elisabeth Gellein holds a degree in architecture (cand.arch., 2016) and works independently through the interdisciplinary design office Spacegirls, which she runs with Cisse Bomholt Christiansen. The practice has received grants from organizations including the Danish Arts Foundation and the Nordic Culture Fund.
The event concludes with a shared lunch (meat and vegetarian dishes, buffet).
