Textile at the LIBRARY - Hand-Embroidered Wall Art

Learn to create your own textile artwork for the wall under the guidance of Kristina Madsen, a trained Textile Educator and Social Pedagogue. The course focuses on acquiring various embroidery and appliqué techniques, both basic and more advanced, carried out entirely by hand – no sewing machine required.

Through introduction and inspiration sessions, you will explore ideas and methods within freehand embroidery and appliqué. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the meditative work with textile, needle and thread, while developing your own piece. Whether you already have an artistic vision – a holiday memory, an interpretation of a painting, or something entirely different – or seek inspiration, you'll find it here.

Practical information:

• All materials are provided
• You are welcome to bring your own textiles (tightly woven), embroidery yarn of high quality, or favorite tools such as embroidery hoops and scissors
• All adults are welcome – for beginners and experienced embroiderers
