Danish Egyptological Society invites you to an English-language lecture with Fanni Faegersten, PhD, Senior International Officer at HT-International Office, Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology, Lund University. The talk focuses on new insights into Egypt's Pre- and Early Dynastic periods based on archaeological finds as well as chemical and molecular analyses.
The lecture highlights two case studies: the earliest indications of wooden ocean-going ships and the first known intentional use of embalming substances on a dead body. Both point to close connections between Egypt and the Levantine coast, as well as the importance of the Lebanese cedar forests. Questions after the lecture may be asked in Danish or English.
