This practical workshop is aimed at teachers, educators, social counselors and youth workers who daily encounter the consequences of youth digital lives. How do you distinguish between harmless banter and harmful behavior online? How do young people navigate the influence of influencers and online communities, and when should professionals intervene?
An experienced panel of experts introduces knowledge about youth digital behavior, bystander effects, online communities and radicalization, as well as issues surrounding sharing of intimate images and legal boundaries. Sofie Boye Kromann (RUC) discusses youth digital lives, Jakob Plannthin Kleofas (AU) explores communities and the manosphere, while Anne Mosegaard Gravholt (KU) focuses on digital sexualization and young people's understanding of responsibility.
You then work in smaller groups exploring realistic situations from practice: What makes it difficult? When and how do you act? What would make handling similar situations easier?
The workshop is part of the EU-supported SAFE AI project, which develops concrete methods and tools to prevent online gender-based violence. Your input – your experience with young people and your practical assessments – helps develop educational materials for both young people and professionals.
