Book Launch: From the Cold War to Putin's Russia

Bent Jensen – Behind a Cold War Researcher launches on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. CEPOS invites you to a book launch where author Brian Christensen, Bent Jensen himself, and senior researcher Flemming Splidsboel Hansen meet to discuss the Cold War, the Soviet Union, and its legacy in today's Russia.

Christensen has based the book on Jensen's accounts of a lifetime dedicated to research on the Soviet Union, Russia, and communism. Through the book, readers gain insight into the people, archives, and historical events that have shaped Jensen's career as a Cold War researcher.

The discussion moves from Jensen's personal story to larger questions: What historical continuities can be traced from the Soviet Union to Putin's Russia? What has changed since 1989? And what lessons can history teach us about Europe's current security policy situation? The floor will also be open for questions from the audience.
